The Wardens of Roses, formally recognzed as the Wardens of Wispwood, is a nation located on the continent of Athel. It is famous for being one of the most populous countries on Annwn.
The Wardens of Wraithwood (who later became the Wardens of Wispwood) is an independent paramilitary organization primarily focused on pushing back the influence of a malevolent extradimensional threat called the Void, an eldritch plane that invades and corrupts other worlds. It was founded by Archmage Raiyoku Malkjord and Merfrid on the world of Athera. Merfrid, in a bout of insanity, forsook the purpose of the Wardens and attempted to spark a world war, leading to his exile. Raiyoku was assisted by Deeroni to build up Wraithhall, the first Warden capital, on the western border of the Wraithwood, the center of the Void intrusion on Athera. It was during this period that LoveArrow was recruited and quickly became the most promising member of the Wardens. Raiyoku also started an International Mages’ Guild (IMG) to take on apprentices from select other nations. The Wardens quickly grew, becoming a pre-eminent superpower on Athera, which caused several other nations to form an alliance against them, led by one of Raiyoku’s own apprentices from the IMG. His confidence greatly damaged by this betrayal and horrified by the thought of his own spells being used against his followers, Raiyoku stepped down from his position as Grand Warden (the highest rank at the time), leading to Deeroni also stepping down and LoveArrow being granted the rank of Grand Warden, a position he was well-prepared for at this point.
Wardens of Wraithwood mission was to investigate and combat the spread of void on Althera. Wraithwood biome was chosen due to proximity to the highest void presence, and containing abnormal magica was identified as the most prominent location to achieve their goals. In the first days, their mission was almost eradicated due to high casualties sustained against the void. Just before the last wardens fell to the onslaught, a stream of recruits willing to stand with them to save this world not only saved their mission. Combined with cutting edge expertise in magica the Wardens obtained from research, and remains of the fallen superpower of Althera joining forces, to form an infamous E Alliance, later known as "The Destroyer of Alliances".
The wardens' growing capacity wasn't left unnoticed by Altherians. Perhaps out of caution, ambition or paranoia, partially fueled by the history of the continent when a force in size similar to theirs was assembled, an alliance was formed to challenge our perceived hegemony over the world. This alliance contained both neutral and hostile powers, and most of the remaining groups of Atheria excusing the Wardens. The hostile powers in the alliance pushed towards resolving the imbalance of power through violent means, and not so long after, the world was at war. Their logistics, structure and magica invented to fight the void, was now repurposed to fight peers they once sided with. Even wardens themselves reported being horrified of the carnage caused from the spells they unleashed upon their opponents. The military oriented powers were soon left alone to face the bulk of their onslaught, as neutral nations left their alliance members without support. After some time, the alliance opposing the wardens broke apart.
After the first campaign, they found mutual respect and befriended Morvia, who were fighting against the wardens alone at the end, now joined the E Alliance. The neutral nations were still harboring a hostile position towards wardens and their mission from the war. At this time, to their horror, their mages started to report abnormal void activity. Old ruins at first, but then houses, infrastructre and terrain was devastated by this new void phenomena. The most prominent victim being the international rail network spanning across whole Athera, now destroyed. Not so long after, a terrorist act was performed by a well-known cultist organization, or so it was thought, until the evidence lead us to a horrifying conclusion, pointing to beings overseeing the dimension collaborating with the void powers. A court had been held, with being in question generously being present to defend themselves. Unfortunately for them, by the end of the session, the wardens' suspicions were proven correct. There was little time left until Althera is lost, and they had to act quickly to save it.
The outcome of the second campaign was not so fortunate for them as the first. It could be described in short as war against heaven itself. By this time, the corruption was spreading among the whole dimension, no longer contained by Wraithwood. In their desperate plan to have a chance of saving Althera, even with their newfound alliance, it wasn't enough. They needed everyone on board. They had to unify Althera, and fast. At the same time, adding the chaos, several nations were found to worship the void, and actively supporting its spread. To solve it, they devised a two-step plan. First, an ultimatum was proposed to all inhabitants of Altera to join their crusade against the higher beings of this dimension and their supporters. The world was divided in two again. They had success of battlefield against their peers, now powered by the void, but it was too late. The dimension fell into corruption, and Althera -what remained of it- was soon lost. Few wardens escaped this expedition alive to fight another day.
Wardens landed on Athel (in Pactoria's predecessor server, Chorus) and founded Wisphall at the worldshroom. A temporary base was constructed on the island while the Wardens established themselves. During the establishment of the Wardens of Wispwood, Crown Warden LoveArrow was murdered by player Swift1203, a diplomatic incident occurred between Kalium (Swift’s nation) and Wardens of Wispwood, Aureus, and Vinovia. The demands were denied, which resulted in a war between Wardens, Aureus, Vinovia; and Swift’s nation, Kalium.
During the course of this war, Gallia held a peace summit at their main town, which was a disaster. A leader of Aureus, Tsun, was murdered at the gates of the city by King Figo. This incident foreshadowed what was to come, as Vinovia declared a siege on Hafen, capital of Gallia, where the peace summit was just beginning. As soon as the siege was declared, Sythodeus would murder unarmed Tsun again and, following that, murder Warden-General (second-in-command) of the Wardens of Wispwood easy_beans. Aureus and Wardens would agree immediately following these murders' peace for Kalium, which included Figo's abdication from the throne, Sythodeus' exile, monetary demands, returnal of seized items from Tsun and a formal apology. Kalium was met with a declaration of war if conditions of Sythodeus’ immediate exile were not met, as well as an extension of the request for peace. The Wardens of Wispwood follow by calling for the immediate and permanent exile of Sythodeus from Gallia.
Gallia responded with the declaration that they would never surrender and would not give in to the demands of Kalium, Aureus, and the Wardens of Wispwood. The alliance declared immediate and total war in response. During this conflict, Gallia fought a losing battle against the world powers. Five days in, Figo declared an official apology and found that a court has sentenced Sythodeus to exile. The wardens had set a time limit of no less than three months for all nations other than Gallia to exile Sythodeus. Nations involved declared peace in agreeance with Gallia’s declarations. Two weeks later: Sythodeus was let back into Gallia, which was a direct breach of the peace settlement. Thus, war commenced, and the alliance slaughtered Gallia in every siege. A week later, King Figo faltered to the demands and abdicated in the next few days, Sythodeus and Figo were removed from Gallia, the monetary demands were met, and a formal apology was given again. On 12 March 2024, King Figo declared formal surrender to the Wardens of Wispwood, Aureus, and Kalium. After that conflict, the world enters a long period of quiet. The Wardens built their final Wisphall design, and expanded all over the Wispwood and Deepwood resulting in a complete continental and biome claim by the Wardens of Wispwood. Anything inside the mountain ranges was theirs.
During this period, The Wardens of Wispwood were the most powerful and active nation in the world with the largest stockpile of weapons, armor, and equipment. Cubles got a nickname “Lockheed Cubles” for his work in manufacturing dozens of shulkers in armor, weapons, and equipment that was used in siege after siege. The Wardens set out on a world conquest where they maintained all the world’s dungeons all the time, which led them to stockpile a ridiculous amount of goods. In the end, the Wisphall design was tested when the whole world was invited to siege Wisphall. This led to a massive battle over the city, which led to the inevitable loss of what the world could muster. Thus, the world was reborn and the Pactoria Era began.
Wardens, once again landed on Athel and re-founded Wisphall at the worldshroom to fight the Void once again. A dangerous threat settled north of their nation, who called themselves "Matrix". Outside the Wardens, several coalition attempts were done against Matrix but they ultimately failed. Such failed coalitions led to the withdrawal of Plainstriff from Notolia to join the wardens for protection. This led to complicated relations with Notolia, who was against both the wardens and Matrix. It was around this time Wardens had a newfound ally, Aureus, who settled in neighboring continent Kalin. Sometime after, the latter led two sieges against Matrix, both of which succeeded. However, due to an upcoming threat in their own continent, they dropped out of the war against Matrix.
Standing alone once again, the wardens watched as the Athel free nations fell one by one to Matrix's expansion. Many of these nations had given up on fighting an endless battle. The wardens and Matrix exchanged sieges repeatedly for the next months, leading to a battle of attrition. Nevertheless, after some weeks, the Wardens gained diplomatic leverage due to their recent victorious sieges, prompting to the formation of a global coalition against Matrix and its new mercenary ally, the Kingdom of Stones. But after Matrix began mass recruiting new members, the tables turned on the Wardens who were just one siege away from victory over the enemy's capital. Following, many weeks of sieges the war concluded with the coalition's victory under the leadership of the Wardens against the Matrix, bringing peace to the continent. Nonetheless, after the next couple months, the nation has reformed and have become what is now known as the Wardens of Roses.
The Wardens of Wispwood function as a paramilitary organization whose mission is to protect the world against the imminent threat of the Void. Its leaders are the Warden Officers. Wispwood's headquarters are located in Central Wispwood on Athel, at the World Shroom. Beneath the Warden Officers are the Warden members, who need to be an Auxiliary first and to make an application for Wardenship. These members are the first to be called upon a siege and usually are the main forces of Wispwood. Underneath the Wardens there are the Auxiliaries, people who applied to assist Wispwood from other towns or even outside Wispwood. Anybody can become an Auxiliary member, but they must pass an application reviewed by a Warden Officer to become one.
The Wardens of Wispwood is located in its homonym region ‒Wispwood‒, located in the continent of Athel. Inside this region, their capital Wisphall is located in the worldshroom.
