¶ History
The people of Pelagaria trace their lineage back to a group of legendary seafarers in Athel, the group consisted of pirates who ruled the waves with unmatched skill and daring. For generations, they thrived, expanding their influence across the seas. However, their ambition led them to challenge an ancient force of the deep, the Kraken. This monstrous being, long spoken of in fearful whispers, proved to be no mere legend. As the pirates of Athel waged war against the creature, their fleets were decimated. In the aftermath, the survivors fled their homeland, seeking refuge beyond the horizon.
After years of perilous travel across uncharted waters, they discovered a chain of mysterious islands untouched by the Kraken's wrath. They settled these lands, naming their new home Elandora. Yet, peace was fleeting. A tyrannical warlord and his deadly tribe forced them to abandon much of their newfound territory. In a final desperate retreat, they gathered on a single island, which would come to be known as Pelagaria.
¶ Age of Survival
The transition from exiles to island dwellers was fraught with struggle. The Pelagarians, once masters of the open sea, had to adapt to the harsh realities of their limited domain. With resources scarce, they relied on their naval prowess to establish trade routes and secure vital supplies. Over time, the island’s natural defenses, combined with the resilience of its people, allowed them to carve out a stable existence. However, the memory of the Kraken and the fall of Athel remained deeply ingrained in their culture, a reminder of the cost of arrogance and unchecked ambition.
¶ Rise of the Pelagarian Fleet
Determined never to suffer such losses again, the Pelagarians dedicated themselves to naval innovation and strategic expansion. They built formidable warships, trained elite sailors, and formed a disciplined maritime force. As their strength grew, so too did their influence. Though bound to their island, their reach extended across the seas, forging alliances and repelling threats with tactical precision. The Pelagarian fleet became both a symbol of their past resilience and a warning to those who might seek to challenge them.

Despite their newfound power, the Pelagarians remain ever watchful. The specter of the Kraken, though distant, looms large in their collective memory. Every venture beyond their shores is taken with caution, every ship built with the knowledge that the sea is as treacherous as it is bountiful. Yet, they do not cower in fear. Instead, they honor the bravery of their ancestors, sailing forth with the same daring spirit that once defined the pirates of Athel. With Pelagaria as their stronghold, they stand ready to face whatever challenges the tides may bring.
