The Iron Legion was a nation located on the continent of Athel
Despite its rapid rise to prosperity, the origins of the Iron Legion are far from grand. Its roots lie in the journey of a lone wanderer, Jax, lost in the arid deserts of Kalin, searching for answers he could not recall. Aimless and weary, he wandered until death itself nearly claimed him. As he faltered, the legendary being Anubis appeared, his wrath vivid beneath the midnight sky. With a heavy axe in hand, Anubis struck Jax down, his blood soaking the earth as darkness overtook him.
In that darkness, a towering figure emerged, speaking in a deep, resounding voice. "Your sacrifice has been great," he intoned as rivulets of blood suspended in the air. Gesturing for Jax to follow, he led him upon a path unseen. The wanderer soon stood upon a mighty anvil, where the figure raised an enormous hammer and struck the landscape. Divine energy rippled outward, reshaping the world before their eyes. Flat plains gave way to towering mountains, and in what felt like mere moments, though ages had passed, saplings grew into vast, ancient trees.
When Jax turned back, a city lay before him. Grand walls of dark, intricately carved stone loomed over the horizon, a fortress offering protection from the untamed forces beyond. Within its walls, people from all walks of life gathered, trading, conversing, and building a new home. "You are finally home," the figure declared, his voice deep and resonant, as if drawn from the very stones beneath their feet. "The Iron Legion is yours now. Build me my citadel, and I shall name you Acheron Prime."
Jax, still reeling, looked up at the being. "Who are you?" he asked. The figure hesitated before answering, "I am that born of..."
Before the answer could be heard, the vision faltered, and Jax was thrust back into reality. No longer a wandering man, he now had direction and purpose. He stepped forward—not aimlessly, but with intent. He had to find the grounds of Hammerfall.
Upon discovering the site of Hammerfall, the arduous work began. Taking refuge beneath the mighty trees that had taken root since his vision, Jax toiled, clearing the land in preparation for what was to come. Exhaustion threatened to overcome him, but just as his last strength faltered, others arrived, men ready to build. Together, they adapted to their new environment, cultivating the land, uncovering hidden resources, and constructing the first foundations of what would become the Iron Legion.
